Our Team
Dr. Jeremy deLeon
Dr. de Leon is a Senior Radiation Oncologist and heads Australia's busiest MRI Linac Program. He holds a degree in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the University of Sydney.
As a pioneer in his field, Dr. de Leon led the clinical implementation of Sydney’s first MRI Linac program and developed Australian firsts MRI-guided initiatives for genitourinary, gastrointestinal, oligometastatic, and stereotactic treatments. His extensive experience has established him as a leading clinician in treatment using the MRI Linac, and he has been involved in the development of other MRI Linac programs both nationally and internationally through peer review and mentoring.
With over 50 publications and abstracts to his name, Dr. de Leon has made significant contributions to MRI-guided radiotherapy including his pioneering work in development of a simulation-free workflow for stereotactic prostate radiotherapy. He has a strong focus on improved efficiencies to ensure optimal use of MRI Linac technology.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, he is active in professional organizations, serving on the TROG Adaptive Radiotherapy subcommittee and the Radiation Oncology Alliance working group on Adaptive Radiation Therapy. Additionally, he is an executive member of the NSW Cancer Institute Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry and the RANZCR Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genito-Urinary Group.
David Crawford
David Crawford is a qualified Radiation Therapist and Dosimetrist who has been working in the oncology industry for over 13 years in both public and private sector. David has worked in a variety of roles which have included the program lead of a state-based brachytherapy service, recently David was on the implementation team who implemented the first MRI guided Linac in the private sector within Australia. After this he enjoyed leading the clinical team where he implemented new clinical sites and services while driving efficiencies on the platform.
Highlights while leading the clinical team include an RT Led program and worlds first sim-less approach to treating prostate carcinoma. David was on the working party for staffing models for adaptive therapies with the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, he has also been involved with establishing several clinical trials. Outside of his clinical experience David has presented at several internation and national conferences such as ESTRO, RANZCR and the Elekta consortium.
In more recent times David has transitioned into a more senior leadership role where he oversees a three linac department, one of which is the Elekta Unity. His passion is evolving and driving international standards for the use of MRI therapies within Radiation Oncology departments.
Dr. Michael Jameson
Dr. Michael Jameson has over 15 years experience as a radiation oncology medical physicist, he has worked in R&D and management where he led a team of over 20 clinical physicists working to improve the science and practice of radiation oncology. He is an adjunct associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales.
Dr. Jameson has over 100 peer reviewed abstracts and publications, a h-index of 19 and over 1600 citations. His work has focused on the accuracy and precision of radiation therapy and magnetic resonance guided adaptive radiation therapy (MRgART). His work in MRgART has resulted in $2.36M in competitive grant funding and several national and international invited presentations.
He led the physics commissioning and implementation of the first MR Linac in NSW and second in Australia. This system was the first to treat fully adaptive MRgART in Australia and he contributed to building a busy successful service. Dr. Jameson chaired the ACPSEM MR Linac working group which is supporting the safe implementation of MR Linacs in ANZ. He also chaired the TROG Adaptive Radiotherapy subcommittee developing guidelines for MRgART clinical trials. Currently he is a member of the Radiation Oncology Alliance working group on Adaptive Radiation Therapy.
Tania Twentyman
Tania Twentyman is a highly experienced Radiation Therapist and Dosimetrist with over 18 years of experience in oncology, spanning both public and private sectors in Australia and the Middle East. She has worked with Elekta in San Francisco, contributing to training, product management, and the development of the Unity system.
Tania played a key role the implementation of 2 clinical Unity systems in Australia, where she focused on the projects from installation through clinical go-live, streamlining clinical workflows, enhancing platform efficienc
ies, and optimizing machine utilization.
In addition, Tania was part of the working party that authored the ASMIRT position statement on MR in RT Linac Staffing Model.
She also led the implementation of the ADAPT-MR registry, which enrolled over 400 patients to evaluate the real-world application of clinical MR Linac systems.
